It takes a toll on me
it ain’t rock and roll you’ll see
a rambling man
running hard
with no place to be
but everywhere to go
the weight of the world
pressurized inside my dome
tried to talk to god
he had a speech impediment
mumbles like a madman
balding in the back
repeats the same stories
most of them are whack
tall tales too predictable
mostly unbelievable
they all end the same
fire glory pain
I did my best to explain
the scene from my side of the pane
a simple man stumbling
it all keeps spinning
I try to play the lottery
with no intention of winning
more money more problems
they’d probably make me get a bank account
upsell me to VIP
but I prefer the nosebleeds
cheap tricks
watered-down drinks
cat’s got your tongue
but don’t let him have your nose
they’ll diagnose me with a tumor
and say it’s on my soul
too dangerous to operate
can't sit still
won’t cooperate
transplant list is mad long
all the names are spelled wrong
he stopped my little anecdote
told me not to worry
the thing looks benign
and there’s free health care in purgatory
